COMMITTEE & INTEREST GROUP MEETINGS: DIAGNOSTIC ERRORS INTEREST GROUP

Tuesday, October 22, 2013: 7:00 AM - 8:00 AM
Stone (Hilton Baltimore)

The Diagnostic Errors Interest Group aims to bring together clinicians, psychologists, informaticians, human factors specialists and epidemiologists with the aim of understanding the causes of diagnostic error and evaluating proposed solutions. Our emphasis is on robust, experimental methodologies for studying error causation and evaluating solutions. We concentrate on the clinician's decision-making processes, though acknowledge the influences that can be exerted by the environment (patient, devices, healthcare team, healthcare system). We aim to inform our members of the latest published research in the area, network with each other and foster research collaborations.
