Biographical Sketch:
Prior to joining Christiana Care, Seema served as director of outcomes research for the department of surgery at the University of Pennsylvania and before that at the University of Michigan. Before completing her PhD, Seema co-founded a medical diagnostics company and worked in business development for Stanford University Hospital. She received her PhD in health services and policy analysis and is interested in a broad range of interdisciplinary and collaborative health services research, particularly research on how individuals and organizations make decisions about new technology. She has participated in research leading to more than 130 peer-reviewed publications, , and has designed and taught courses on introductory statistics for clinicians, successful publication strategies for academic physicians and outcomes research for devices and diagnostics. Seema is a long-time member of the Society for Medical Decision-Making, serving in many roles, including annual conference co-organizer and trustee. She serves as associate editor for the American Journal of Managed Care, sits on several special-emphasis review panels for AHRQ and the NIH, including the SBIR program and is a member of the advisory panel on assessment of prevention, diagnosis and treatment options for PCORI
