Biographical Sketch: Kevin Hawkins currently serves as Vice President, Research and Development, in Advanced Analytics at OptumInsight, a UnitedHealth Group company. Dr. Hawkins has over 20 years of experience designing, conducting and managing health services research. Dr. Hawkins has conducted a variety of research and evaluation projects, specifically health-economic, quality-of-life, disease burden, pharmacoeconomics and retrospective database analyses on health care claims, prospective and retrospective data. Before joining OptumInsight, Dr. Hawkins worked for IMS Health, Medstat and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan.
Dr. Hawkins has authored over 100 peer-reviewed articles and presentations, and is a reviewer for several medical-scientific journals. Dr. Hawkins received his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Health Economics from Wayne State University.
