Biographical Sketch:
Shengfan Zhang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Arkansas. She received her Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from North Carolina State University. Dr. Zhang’s primary research focuses on mathematical modeling of stochastic systems with an emphasis on statistical and decision analysis as applied to medical decision making, healthcare system optimization, and other service systems. She has published in various journals, conference proceedings and book chapters on topics including personalized decision modeling in preventive health care, statistical analysis of healthcare data, and simulation for medical decision support. Dr. Zhang is a member of Institute of Industrial Engineering (IIE), Institute for Operations Research and Management Sciences (INFORMS), and Society for Medical Decision Making (SMDM).
