Biographical Sketch: I am currently an Assistant Professor of Medicine on the tenure-track at Vanderbilt University in the Division of Hematology/Oncology. Prior to becoming faculty at Vanderbilt, I completed hematology/oncology fellowship at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute/Harvard Cancer Center program, and developed expertise and a research portfolio in investigating complications of treatment among advanced prostate cancer survivors. After arriving at Vanderbilt, I completed a Master of Public Health, as well as multiple studies of complications of advanced prostate cancer. In the last few years, my research efforts have focused on treatment decision-making in the complex treatment landscape of advanced prostate cancer. My work aims to optimize treatment decision-making by developing patient-facing decision-aids that enable men to more clearly understand the benefits and complications of treatment so that they can more effectively participate in treatment decision-making with their physicians.
Clinically I am a specialist in genitourinary malignancies. In addition to investigating the side effects of cancer treatment and treatment decision-making among men with advanced prostate cancer, I also participate in clinical research assessing novel treatments for genitourinary malignancies. I am member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group, the Society of Women in Urology, and the Society for Medical Decision Making.
