Biographical Sketch:
The author is a fellow of the Philippine Dermatological Society. She is a research faculty professor at the University of the Philippines – National Institutes of Health and a clinical associate professor at the Section of Dermatology of UP-PGH. She is completing her Master’s degree in Clinical Epidemiology at UP Manila. The author worked previously with the Health Policy Development Program of the Foundation for the Advancement in Clinical Epidemiology and the UPEcon Foundation where she handled the program on standards and regulation. The author was also involved in health financing policies including the maximum retail price on drugs. The author has conducted a retrospective study on Risk Prevention Practices and Monitoring of Oral Corticosteroid-related Adverse Effects by UP-PGH Dermatology Residents: A Retrospective Study of Cases Seen at UP-PGH Out-Patient Department Section of Dermatology from January 2003 – December 2004. This study highlighted the complications suffered by ENL patients on chronic steroid use.
