Biographical Sketch: Dr. Kathleen Fisher has extensive clinical, administrative, and research expertise in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities. Her administrative experience in the field of intellectual and developmental disability includes leadership and management roles on a number of projects, requiring staffing, budget proposal, and research integrity She has served as PI or Co-I on several funded studies including federal, state, and foundation grants. These interdisciplinary investigations have employed qualitative, mixed methods, conjoint analysis and participatory action research. Dr. Fisher’s previous research applications have given her invaluable communication and teamwork skills, as well as skills in manuscript development and revision.
Dr. Fisher is a skilled nurse educator with over 35 years of clinical nursing experience, most of those at the advanced practice level i.e. as a certified registered nurse practitioner (CRNP), specializing in the family. Dr. Fisher is also experienced in conference planning, most recently with the Drexel Nursing Education Institute (DUNEI), which hosts an annual national nursing education conference targeting nurses, academics, and hospital administrators. She teaches qualitative research methods at the doctoral level and is the recipient of an international research prize for a qualitative study that utilized thematic content analysis.
